Project Details
GRK 415: Defectstructure-Related Physical Properties
Subject Area
Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 1997 to 2003
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 272261
The aim of this research training group is the explanation and a deeper understanding of the correlation between the defect structure and local physical properties in different materials (semiconductors, metals, and oxides as single crystals, ceramics or thin layers). Using the different methods and experience of the involved disciplines (physics, chemistry and materials science), the interchange between professors and scholarship holder is the basis for the interdisciplinary co-operation during the progress in their thesis. The teaching program includes seminars, colloquia, and lectures to new developments in the experimental techniques of the participating disciplines as well as excursions to national and international research centres like ESRF, ILL, DESY, GSI and so on. In the guest program renowned specialists give reports on their research. In many cases new co-operations with other research groups can be started by such first personal contacts.
