Project Details
GRK 277: Structure and Dynamics of Heterogeneous Systems
Subject Area
Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 1997 to 2005
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 271553
The aim of the research training group is to combine experimental and theoretical work of interdisciplinary character on the structure and dynamics of a few nonmagnetic and magnetic heterogeneous systems being important in biology, chemistry and physics. Large molecules for optoelectronic materials, the chromophore of rhodopsin in the retina of vertebrate animals, large aggregates of potassium, tin, iron and cobalt on silicon, titanium dioxide and iron dichloride surfaces, to name a few. Essential is the degree of heterogeneity and resulting relaxation. The interdisciplinary concept of the research training group is of predominat importance for successful research and teaching.
