Dispersion-Directed Lewis Base Catalysis

Applicant Professor Dr. Hendrik Zipse
Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term from 2015 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 271386062

Project Description

Catalyst systems combining the effects of new Lewis base catalysts and appropriately structured reagents will be developed that allow the form- and size-selective acylation and silylation of substrate alcohols. Catalyst performance will be quantified in reactions with mixtures of substrate alcohols and through kinetic studies on single substrates. Spectroscopic measurements and quantum chemical studies on key intermediates of the catalytic cycle will be performed in order to identify the most relevant factors affecting catalytic performance.
