The aim of the research training group is to further scientific work withinan interdisciplinary environment regarding the observation,description, explanation, classification and the control of structureformation. The interaction of mathematics and computer science withother sciences improves the potential of mathematics and computerscience to supply much needed tools in the other disciplines. The hugeamount of cross linkages between the various projects supported by thegraduate program, as well as lectures, seminars, and workshops fromall participating disciplines, encourage and stimulateinterdisciplinary discussions between all of its participants,students and teachers alike.
