Fluorine spin qubits in isotopically enriched II-VI semiconductors (Z02)

Subject Area Physics
Term from 2015 to 2018
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 249492093

Project Description

The goal of this project is the elaboration of non-zero nuclear-spin depleted (Zn,Mg)Se/ZnSe quantum structures fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy. With such structures an optically addressable spin system shall be realized, which may serve as a solid-state quantum memory with long coherence time. The latter is limited due to a non-zero nuclear-spin background of the host crystal. Nuclear-spin purified ZnSe enables a strong increase of the spin coherence, which makes this material particularly suited to unveil new effects on the spin dynamics with time scales beyond the limiting nuclear spin fluctuations.
