Project Details
Interaction of exciton, carrier and dangling bond spins in colloidal nanostructures (B01)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 249492093
The project will provide basic knowledge on the energy and spin structure of the electronic states and exciton complexes in semiconductor colloidal nanostructures of various shapes (spherical quantum dots, nanoplatelets, core/shell heterostructures) and chemical compositions. We will focus on spin-dependent phenomena and dynamics of interacting spin systems of carriers (electrons and holes), excitons (neutral and charged), magnetic ions, surface spins of dangling bonds and nuclei spins. The main task for the project is to perform a comprehensive experimental and theoretical study of spin-dependent phenomena being controlled and modified by strong quantum confinement of carriers and their interaction with the surface.
