Coherent manipulation of complex spin ensembles in semiconductor nanostructures (A01)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 249492093

Project Description

Target of the studies will be ensembles of localized spins in quantum dots or wells that are driven periodically by pulsed lasers. In dots we will advance the experimental and theoretical studies of spin mode-locking facilitated through nuclear-induced frequency focusing by addressing structures with less complex nuclear spin system such as GaAs/AlGaAs dot structures or fluorine donor-bound electron spins in ZnSe. Further, we will clarify and control spin-spin interactions between QDs, using also structures without wetting layer. In doped quantum wells, we will continue our investigations of weak localization phenomena in the spin dynamics.
