The Reelin-GPVI axis in acute myocardial infarction beyond thrombosis (A05)

Subject Area Cardiology, Angiology
Term from 2015 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236177352

Project Description

TP A05 aims to understand the impact of platelets in inflammation, cell survival and scar formation and the role of the glycoprotein VI (GPVI)-Reelin axis in these processes post AMI. We will investigate non hemostatic/thrombotic functions of platelets with respect to platelet-mediated inflammation and platelet-induced cardiomyocyte survival and fibroblast activation post AMI. The role of Reelin in GPVI mediated platelet activation and the impact of Reelin post AMI will be determined using an antibody that blocks Reelin oligomerisation and Reelin mutant mice.
