The central project within this application for a clinical research unit is for organizational purposes. Its aim is the coordination of the clinical research unit (seminars, invitations of guest speakers, travel, technical core facility, administrative issues). Moreover, this central project seeks to foster the long-term implementation of the field of feto-maternal immune cross talk in the research priorities and clinical services at the UKE. It will ensure that clinical residents can be relieved from their duties in routine medical care and rotate into the network for a fixed time to perform research, hereby progressing towards scientific independence. This central project further ensures the maintenance and expansion of an appropriate and timely infrastructure available to all investigators involved in the clinical research network.
