In the proposed project measurements of OCS will be used to study the interannual variability of CO2. To this end, the fact will be used, that plants take up OCS parallel to CO2 during photosythesis but do not respirate OCS during night. The separation will be done using chemical transport models, which will be constrained using measurements of OCS. The measurements will be derived from ground based atmospheric radiation measurements using FTIR instruments. In the frame of NDACC exit measurements worldwide, which can be used to derive atmospheric OCS.
