This project develops image analysis techniques that are relevant in the context of the CRC to enable drawing quantitative conclusions from microscopic experiments. Especially on volumetric and/or time-lapse data, it is very tedious or impossible to derive statistical numbers from the recordings. We will develop new registration algorithms for setting up a spatio-temporal gene expression atlas of the kidney, algorithms for virtual co-expression experiments as well as tracking algorithms for dynamic analyses of cells and cell assemblies in general volumetric image sequences.
