The objective of the Scientific Information Service for Mathematics is to develop an information infrastructure which delivers scientific resources and services beyond local facilities, for mathematical research in Germany. This will provide access to highly specialised literature and peak-demand research-specific information and additional value services. The main emphasis of the project will be to negotiate and supply licenses for scholarly resources which will meet the demands of the mathematical community. Further, it will establish an online archive based on the Central Estate Archive for Mathematics, hosted and curated by the Göttingen State and University Library. In addition, a support service addressing subject-related questions of non-textual materials and a service for digitization-on-demand will be developed in close collaboration with research projects, individual researchers and research groups. The service will be closely aligned with the disciplinary requirements and demands via close collaboration with the mathematical community. A strong commitment from this community both at individual and institutional level will ensure the success and sustainability of the project. Project partners will be SUB Göttingen and TIB Hannover, supported by MFO which will provide advice and facilitate contact with the mathematical community.
