Project Details
Thermodynamics and Kinetics of Multicomponent Metallic and Ceramic Materials
Applicant
Professor Dr. Markus Rettenmayr (†)
Subject Area
Thermodynamics and Kinetics as well as Properties of Phases and Microstructure of Materials
Term
from 2015 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 266629925
The focus of the Early Career Investigators workshop will be the Calphad method with its potential for a precise definition of thermodynamic states in complex materials. The Calphad method will be complemented by coupling with kinetic models for describing phase transformation, by the allocation of input data using simulation calculations (MD, DFT) or experiments, and by the application of the method on technical materials and processes.
