The objective of the subproject is to numerically investigate chemically reacting, multiphase, near-wall flow processes for emission control in the context of selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides. The scientific focus is on the development, validation and application of modeling based on large eddy simulation. Physical and chemical phenomena upstream of the catalyst are investigated including complex mixer geometries and in the honeycomb channels of the SCR monolith.
