Model reduction for reaction-transport systems for emission control (B07)

Subject Area Technical Thermodynamics
Term since 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 237267381

Project Description

In this subproject, reduced models will be developed to describe the chemical kinetics and transport processes for conditions as they occur during selective catalytic reduction in combination with hydrogen. Based on analyses of the relevant time scales and the coupling of chemical and physical processes, ap-propriate reduction concepts will be used. The model will be extended to include detailed reactions in the liquid phase, so that for urea decomposition, appropriate chemical reaction kinetics with gaseous and liquid reaction products can be used for the model reduction. The reduced model will be made available for use in CFD simulations.
