Project Description

The aim of this subproject is to investigate film evaporation of multicomponent fluids and deposit formation using numerical methods. Chemical mechanisms for deposit formation will be developed and validated with experimental data. Based on parameter studies, regime maps and correlations are established, summarizing the influences of the most important process parameters on film stability, initial point of deposit formation, and shape and size of the deposits. Based on this, simplified models are developed for use in CFD simulations.
