In Subproject A04 detailed experimental investigation of thermo-chemical and fluid mechanical properties of flame-wall interactions, advanced laser optical methods will be developed and employed to provide a much improved understanding of transient flame-wall interactions. For elaborated canonical geometries, a parametric study of key factors will be conducted to extent present understanding of flame quenching, pollutant formation near walls or in-complete combustion. The results of this project are indispensable as validation data for numerical simulations.
