Electron spectroscopy and holography (C04)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term since 2015
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 247310070

Project Description

This project applies and combines advanced electron-scattering-based techniques, such as electron-energy-loss spectroscopy, angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy, and vector-field electron tomography, to probe the spin configuration and electronic properties of frustrated magnetic systems on various length scales ranging from several hundreds of nanometers down to the atomic lattice. That particularly includes Bloch points in frustrated soft magnets, magnetic solitons in ferrimagnets, spin-charge coupling effects in low-energy excitations of magnetic Weyl semimetals, and the electronic structure of Kitaev materials.
