Models and Phenomenology for Standard and Non-Standard Neutrino Physics
Final Report Abstract
Many frameworks and theories explain neutrino mass and lepton mixing. The project investigated phenomenological aspects of many such models. The considered experimental consequences range from nuclear scale neutrinoless double beta decay searches, to present and future colliders like the LHC and beyond, as well as astroparticle physics experiments like IceCube. The connection of neutrino physics to dark matter was discussed as well. We investigated in particular the possibility of right-handed neutrinos being dark matter, with mass scales from keV to PeV. The possibility to detect keV-scale neutrinos in possible modifications of the KATRIN experiment was discussed in particular. Various new aspects of self-conjugacy of particles were also studied, where in the neutrino sector the Majorana nature of neutrinos is concerned, and in the dark matter sector the question is whether the dark matter particle is its own antiparticle.
