The proposed study plans to investigate how contactless magnetic induction can detect acute and chronic ventilatory dysfunction in preterm and term neonates and if it is perhaps possible to achieve an earlier detection of the dysfunction compared with established methods like pulse oxymetry or x-ray. The aim is to establish an animal model in which various ventilation defects (displaced endotracheal tube, atelectasis, pneumothorax, aspiration) can be demonstrated and can be confirmed by monitoring or radiologically. The results will be compared to those achieved with magnetic induction in a single-blinded study.
