This project should be seen in the context of the master plan for the digitization of the National bibliography of German imprints of the 17th century, especially the digitization of unique imprints (masterplan type 1). The aim of the project is the digitization of the remaining 740 unique 17th century imprints of the University and State Library Sachsen-Anhalt. The digital publications will incorporate structural data which will facilitate the usability of the publications on the Internet. The imprints, which are particularly valuable because of their uniqueness, will be provided in permanent open access via various national and international databases for the purpose of study and research.
