Project Description

The goal of this project is to address the physics of electroweak symmetry breaking and theproperties of the Higgs boson using effective field theory (EFT) methods. The main emphasisis on the electroweak chiral Lagrangian including a light Higgs boson (EWChL) as the low-energy (electroweak-scale) effective theory. In particular, we elaborate on the motivation for this framework, its conceptual basis, and the relation to other EFT formulations. We compute higher-order effects and develop the phenomenological application of this approach, especially for the physics at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
