Project Details
High performance satellite formation flight simulator (B05)
Subject Area
Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Cartography
Term
from 2014 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 239994235
The project provides the essential simulation test bed XHPS for all space-related geodesy concepts developed in geo-Q. The focus lies on the development of detailed system models for GRACE and GRACE-FO to enable (a) the resolution of internal couplings and their influence on the gravity field solution and (b) disturbance identification and mitigation for GRACE-FO. Furthermore, using system, sensor (-fusion) and disturbance models in a high precision orbit propagation approach, we will generate mission specific mock data sets with unprecedented depth and precision for (a) optimizing existing gravimetric measurement concepts and (b) identifying and evaluating new concepts proposed in geo-Q. The goal is a complete representation of satellite system, sensors and all perturbative effects for all scenarios requested by the community.
