Project Details
Research of precision determining factors in order to minimize distortion in gravity and high pressure die casting processes (B08)
Subject Area
Metallurgical, Thermal and Thermomechanical Treatment of Materials
Term
since 2014
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
In the third phase of the subproject, the focus is on controlling distortion and hot cracking tendency and transferring the compensation strategies developed for this to practical complex castings and processes. This transfer leads to further complex interacting boundary conditions, such as the interaction of thermal and geometric influence. The resulting compensation methods will make it possible to quantifiably control and thus compensate for component distortion and hot cracking in the permanent mold and die casting process at the end of the third phase.
