Project Details
Modelling of the injection molding process in due consideration of the thermal coupling between melt, microstructure and mold for a precise prediction of the final part contour (B04)
Subject Area
Plastics Engineering
Term

Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
The goal of minimising component warpage by optimising the final microstructure using the self-consistent iterative multi-scale simulation is to be achieved in three steps in subproject B04. The integration of the XNS-filling-simulation enables a more precise calculation of the input data of the multi-scale simulation. In addition, the final residual stresses in the component will be made more precise by taking into account the change in mechanical properties due to post-crystallisation. The resulting precise distortion prediction will be used to optimise the microstructure by optimising the thermal boundary conditions.
