Project Details
Self-Optimizing Process Control Strategies for a Highly Segmented Temperature Control in Injection Moulding (B03)
Subject Area
Plastics Engineering
Term
since 2014
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
In subproject B03, the methodology and control developed to date are being transferred to complex molded part geometries that exhibit characteristics of classic injection molded parts such as ribs. At the same time, the aim is to reduce the need for measuring and temperature control technology in order to cut costs and effort. In addition, warpage-critical areas are dynamically and efficiently tempered using innovative tempering technology (A12). To further increase the precision of the prediction and the control quality, a parameterized 3-D temperature prediction is introduced with SP B02. The warpage prediction of complex geometries based on this increases dimensional accuracy across cycles.
