Project Details
Numerical Modeling and Compensation of both Shrinkage and Warpage in Injection Molding (B02)
Subject Area
Computer Architecture, Embedded and Massively Parallel Systems
Term
since 2014
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
In the third phase of the SFB, previous results, i.e., (1) simulation approaches for shrinkage, and warpage compensation, (2) material models for precise modeling, and (3) methods for efficient simulation, will be coupled and functionally extended. The primary focus is on adjoint methods on the one hand and novel optimization approaches from the field of machine learning on the other hand, which both increase efficiency. Finally, the focus is on searching for robust optima that can withstand batch fluctuations and the like. Combined with refined boundary conditions derived from the results of cooperating projects, both the quality and the reliability of the design are increased.
