Project Details
Development of simulative approaches for systematic design of the properties of plasma sprayed coatings (A10)
Subject Area
Coating and Surface Technology
Term
since 2014
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 236616214
In atmospheric plasma spraying (APS), the processes of the rapid solidification process have a considerable influence on the quality and precision of the resulting coatings. In the first and second phase, the influence of the process parameters and the disturbance variables were analysed using simulations and experiments and their influence on the coating properties was investigated. Based on these findings, the prediction accuracy of the coating properties shall be increased to an error of less than 10 %. At the same time, compensation strategies will be implemented to reduce the influence of the disturbances.
