C4 continues the research on Slavic intercomprehension by (1) extending the range of the studied phenomena beyond lexical similarity and mere word-order-based predictability, e.g., by including constructional similarity, cross-lingual correspondences of multi-component units, transparency of prefabricated language, intelligibility of formulaic and idiomatic expressions; (2) integrating rational, literal or automatic intercomprehension routines observable on both speaker and listener sides, e.g., by extending the empirical base toward a dialogue setup in order to observe the dynamic exchange of information as well as related convergence effects; (3) modelling the interplay of linguistic encoding strategies detectable with regard to vocabulary selection, choice of constructions, paraphrasing preferences, and use of prosody.
