Project Details
Value-based modulation of perception and action in real-world settings across the adult lifespan (B05)
Subject Area

Term
since 2014
Project identifier

Aging offers a unique window to adaptive processes in perception and action that unfold across the lifespan. The efficiency of valuation has been shown to substantially rely on available resources for monitoring and controlling sensory and sensorimotor signals. This project is dedicated to behavior in complex realistic settings, since those specifically require goal-directed weighing of information. We will elucidate the role of valuation in adaptive mechanisms during ageing and shed light onto general mechanisms of optimizing behavior given limited control resources.
