At the beginning of its funding by the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Specialised Information Service (FID) for International and Interdisciplinary Legal Research (²) completed the transformation from a Special Subject Collection to a Specialised Information Service and subsequently established and expanded a wide range of research-related services as well as community-related communication infrastructures. Now the FID will comprehensively evaluate its established value-added services for legal research - in close contact with the research community - to consolidate them. The consolidation relates to the FID's core tasks of providing specialised services for international and interdisciplinary legal research. At the same time, the FID would like to qualify for further support by the DFG to secure the sustainable operation of the FID for the future. Overall, the services offered as well as their visibility and the uncomplicated access to them, should be optimised in order to support the community in its entire width in its research on international law as well as on interdisciplinary legal topics. In doing so, the FID is following the central results of a community survey conducted in autumn 2022 and the recommendations of its Academic Advisory Board, which fully supports this project. The focus of this application will be the expansion of the range of electronic resources, user generated and based acquisition and licensing, intensive community communication addressing in particular the group of young academics, the FID's open access activities, the optimisation of search and reference tools and the FID's own contribution to strengthening the FID-System as a whole.
