The sixth year of the present Emmy Noether project will aim at magnetic resonance imaging of single organic electron spins. A single Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) center in diamond will be used to detect the signal of a small ensemble of ~100 electron spins, which will be thermally polarised by a moderately strong (0.1 T) magnetic field and cryogenic (10K) cooling. Imaging will be performed on the single-spin level by Fourier spectroscopy in a magnetic field gradient, building on the results of the first two funding periods.
