of primary importance as well. A very intriguing task will be application of spectroscopic ellipsometry in the evaluation the nature of the bonding between proteins, nanoparticles and polymer films. The structural changes in the proteins upon adsorption will be accomplished by IR ellipsometry. At this point, the combined expertise of the partners is very promising, concerning the synthesis and characterization of mixed brushes, fine tuning interfacial interactions at the specially designed mixed brushes in an aqueous medium, performing reasonable experiments to evaluate adsorption efficiency at the interface, and characterization of the changes in the secondary structure and conformation of the adsorbing protein layer.
