Project Details
Organic Heterolayer Interfaces: Structure and Vibrational Excitations (A03)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 223848855
This project focuses on the in-situ preparation and characterisation of organic/inorganic interfaces, as well as of molecular heterolayer systems using infrared absorption spectroscopy. The structure and thermal stability of these will be analysed and processes such as interfacial dynamical charge transfer associated with specific vibrational excitations examined. Central aspects of our work will in particular concern reaction mechanisms in synthetic interface chemistry, metal-on-molecule interfaces, and organic heterolayer interfaces on non-hexagonal substrates.
