Final Report Abstract
The sol-emulsion-gel (SEG) and the granulation methods have been developed in order to investigate the synthesis and the characterisation of the Lithium containing complex oxide powders (LiAlSiO4, Li2SiO3, LiAl5O8, LiBO2). The SEG is appropriate for spheres of average diameter in the range of 40-60μm, while much larger spheres are prepared with the granulation technique. The synthesis processes proposed here can be used for a large scale production and may, in principle, work for other type of compounds. The broad variation of the size of the spheres makes them useful for different applications.
