Project Z4 focuses on comparisons in geography classroom education and the importance of argumentation during this process by using topics of the CRC 806 “Our Way to Europe”. Comparing is a central method for obtaining high-level conclusions from singular observations. Z4 focuses on the spatio-temporal comparisons that are particularly relevasnt in the CRC. Using various evaluation methods, the Z4 project will be able to understand better how pupils compare, which problems arise during the process, and how important argumentations are in this context. On this basis, new educational concepts will be designed.
