Project Details
Hybrid assemblies for fundamental studies of photo-induced multi-step charge transfer catalysis (C01)
Subject Area
Physical Chemistry of Solids and Surfaces, Material Characterisation
Term
since 2013
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 217133147
This interdisciplinary project aims to control multi-step charge transfer in hybrid assemblies for electrically and light driven oxidation of water. The hybrid systems consist of molecular catalysts for water splitting anchored to an oxide absorber film which is capable of injecting excited holes and offer sufficient stability for anchoring. Further work focusses on improved charge transfer by suitable anchoring strategies, the comprehensive study of photo-chemical activity driven by hot-polaron excitations as well as study of the reaction sequence in collaboration theory projects.
