The proposed research will be done in the frame of a one-dimensional linear hygrothermalpiezoelectric bi-material structure model consisting in two finite length layers with a zero thickness material interface between them. For the analysis the shear lag method will be chosen due to its well-known advantages for problems in composite materials. Although the method fits well to the given situation its further development and extension will go along with new boundary value problems that have to be solved and discussed.
