INFLUENCE OF A LOCAL INFLAMMATION ON LIPIDSYNTHESIS AND -SIGNALING IN MEGAKARYOCYTES AND THROMBOCYTES (A08)

Subject Area Pharmacology
Term since 2013
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 204083920

Project Description

The project aims to study how a local peripheral inflammation influences lipidsynthesis and -signaling in megakaryocytes and thrombocytes. mRNA sequencing and proteome analyses showed that a local inflammation upregulates the expression of proinflammatory proteins in megakaryocytes and thrombocytes. The role of observed changes in the lipidome will be investigated in both cell types with focus on aggregation of thrombocytes, vascular permeability, and thrombocyte-associated macrophages. Finally, the data generated in mice will be studied for their significance for chronic inflammatory skin diseases using biopsies and blood samples from patients.
