Viral regulators of cellular ripoptosome protein complex (B09)

The project aims at a better understanding of the molecular and cellular mechanisms of apoptosis and necroptosis regulation by KSHV. We will first analyze KSHV anti-necroptotic functions and mechanisms with a specific focus on the whole virus context and on cell type specific effects as observed in preliminary data. Moreover, we will validate the impact of these findings on necroptosis regulation in vivo and study KSHV-vFLIP-induced tumorigenic signaling pathways using established mouse models.
