Project Details
Investigating the mechanism of antibody mediated effector functions in vivo (B14)
Subject Area
Immunology
Term
from 2013 to 2016
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 5486111
Immunoglobulin G (IgG) molecules are crucial to protect the host from microbial infections and provide a platform for the targeted deletion of malignant cells. Having identified that IgG dependent effector functions in the blood are mediated by the Ly6Clo monocyte subset during the last funding period we would like to focus our attention on identifying the molecular and cellular players involved in IgG activity in peripheral lymphoid and non-lymphoid tissues such as the skin or lung. In addition, we will use a novel humanized mouse model to study the role of human innate immune effector cells for human IgG activity in a pre-clinical model system in vivo.
