Subject Area

Term
from 2013 to 2020
Project identifier

The cooperative response of immune cells is crucial to ensure tissue homeostasis by promoting an appropriate inflammatory and antimicrobial host response. In this project we will analyse the collaboration of innate immune cells in the skin during the inflammatory and antimicrobial host response against intracellular pathogens. In particular, we want to understand the role of vitamin D hormone in regulating these interactions. In the long term such studies could be of importance for the design of novel host-directed therapies.
