Project Details
Extracellular fibrillin microfibrils as multifunctional scaffolds integrating growth factor signalling in the skin (B12)
Subject Area
Biochemistry
Term
from 2013 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 73111208
To understand disease pathomechanisms driven by fibrillin deficiency we want to define the molecular requirements by which fibrilin microfibrils integrate growth factor targeting, storage, and activation. Thereby we would like to delineate in which disease situations biomechanical or proteolytic processes are involved in the aberrant activation of matrix-bound growth factors and how this translates into dysregulated collagen homeostasis.
