Subproject C3 investigates transitions and mechanisms for the capture, composition, processing and distribution of content under highly dynamic conditions. In phase I and II the focus was mainly on 2D video content. In phase III, this is expanded to multi-dimensional (MD) content, which additionally covers content types such as 360-degree video and interactive 3D streams. The goal of C3 is to ensure a well-defined Quality of Experience (QoE) during the distribution of MD content in dy-namic, heterogeneous environments with high user interactivity through QoE-controlled cooperative transitions. To achieve this, the mission-decisive QoE requirements of multiple parallel streams have to be met in context of transition-enabled and non-transition-enabled communication systems.
