Subproject C2 investigates methods for the transition-based adaptation of event-based systems (EBS). In phase I and II the subproject contributed to the improvement of quality of service by performing transitions between the mechanism of an EBS and enabling their adaptive network-centric execution (In-Network Processing). In Phase III, C2 aims at developing methods for the reliable fulfillment of crucial requirements of an EBS. To this end, new methods will be investigated which i) contribute to a detailed understanding of the performance characteristics of the EBS, ii) ensure more efficient processing of events by means of hardware acceleration and approximation methods, and iii) ensure crucial requirements across sever-al autonomous network providers via cooperative forms of adaption.
