Project Details
Polymer hybrid materials for novel embossing processes for the production of microoptical foils (A01)
Subject Area
Preparatory and Physical Chemistry of Polymers
Term
from 2013 to 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 210420491
Project A01 will develop and synthesize new polymer-based materials with tailored optical and thermomechanical properties. Key target of the materials development is the generation of stable large-area microstructured polymer foils. To this end, novel UV or thermally-curable monomers as well as cross-linkable polymers generated by C, H-Insertion will be studied with the goal of the synthesis of new functional polymer based foils. The aspired active optical (luminescent or lasing) and thermomechanical properties will be adjusted by a tailored chemical synthesis which will enable the formation of all-organic sensors and light sources directly in the polymer foil.
