Final Report Abstract

Taken together, during my postdoctoral training, I have investigated pH-dependency and post-transcriptional regulation of Wnt signaling and ciliogenesis; expanded the knowledge on ATP4-dependent processes during vertebrate development and human disease; started to investigate the underlying cause of ciliated metaplasia in mice and the role of NHE3 during Xenopus development. During this work, I expanded my skills towards working with mice and adult tissue, as well as human cell culture. Furthermore, I could improve my expertise in Xenopus biology, general molecular and developmental biology, regulation of mucociliary epithelia and motile ciliogenesis, as well as advanced microscopy, genetics and post-transcriptional regulation.
