Electrochemical corrosion behaviour and corrosion protection of high alloy TRIP-steels and TRIP-Matrix-Composites (B06*)

Subject Area Coating and Surface Technology
Term from 2013 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 54473466

Project Description

The corrosion initiation processes of the proven damages due to pitting and uniform corrosion will be analyzed by a combination of the electrochemical noise and acoustic emission method. By using different test methods an early damage detection technique will be developed. Running outdoor exposure tests are continued and the results will be correlated to the laboratory tests. A further objective is the investigation of the influence of increased pressure and temperature on the corrosion kinetic, with the aim to develop a damage model under extreme climatic conditions.
