Selective spin transfer in the chemistry of complex polyketides (B06)

Subject Area Organic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term from 2013 to 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 60803019

Project Description

Polyketides are attractive and intellectually challenging research objects due to their structural complexity and a broad range of important biological activities. Despite considerable progress there continues to be a high demand for more convergent and stereoselective methods for their synthesis as well as novel tools for target-inhibitor studies. In this project selective spin transfer processes will be developed for two purposes: the development of more effective synthetic methods as enabling techniques for complex polyketide synthesis and innovative spin labels for receptor-inhibitor analyses.
