The requested research project is designed as a preliminary study for a separate longitudinal study, to be applied for at the DFG, on the determinants and development of student feedback. The hereby applied preliminary study analyses in a comparative subject study the factors that influence the student feedback at grammar and vocational grammar schools. It will be examined, under the consideration of the subjects German, mathematics and - in the case of the vocational grammar schools - the particular profile forming subject with variance-, regression analysis and by employing confirmatory factor analysis, how far individual learner characteristics, class characteristics and class composition determine the overall assessment of teaching. The aim is to explain if the student statements are comparable across the subjects and the educational programme, as it is assumed in the currently practised feedback process of student feedback, and which subjects and educational programmes in the planned main survey must be taken into consideration or are dispensable for a preferable contrastive comparison.
